Shanwei's first Chinese shadow puppetry-themed restaurant opens

Recently, the Chinese shadow puppetry-themed KFC at Xinli CentralPlaza in Shanwei hosted a parent-child shadow puppetry experience activity.

The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the classic elements of Lufeng shadow puppetry. At the entrance, the character pipa fairy from the iconic play "Fei Tian" appears to dance gracefully. Her flowing robes are rendered in elegant lines that resemble a moving scroll of shadow puppet art across the glass panels. On the other side, various shadow puppets with smiling faces stand in a welcoming line, greeting visitors from afar.

Inside, the highlight is the imaginative "Shadow Puppet Box"— a must-visit photo spot. Under warm lighting, "Colonel Sanders" appears dressed in traditional Chinese opera costumes, playfully interacting with the twelve zodiac animals from Lufeng shadow puppetry.

A knowledge wall, shaped like water sleeves from traditional opera costumes, showcases unique equipment used in Lufeng shadow puppetry, including carving knives, percussion instruments, and water lanterns. The New Year scene from the children's play"Harmonious and Prosperous Times" has also been reinterpreted here and handcrafted film shadow figures join KFC's mascot Chicky in a joyful celebration of reunion and festivity.

Lufeng shadow puppetry is one of the first art forms listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in China. As an ancient form of folk art, it integrates painting, carving, production, music, performance, and stagecraft, with a history spanning over a thousand years.

汕尾首家皮影文化主题餐厅亮相

近日，汕尾信利中央肯德基皮影文化主题餐厅举办了一场皮影戏亲子体验活动。

该皮影文化主题餐厅是以陆丰皮影戏的经典元素为设计灵感打造。餐厅入口处，经典剧目《飞天》中的角色“琵琶仙”衣袂翩跹，飘逸如风的线条，如一幅流动的皮影画卷跃然玻璃之上；另一侧，不同的皮影人物带着微笑正列队相迎远方的客人。

步入餐厅里，灵动的“皮影盒子”是不能错过的打卡位——暖光下，身着不同传统服饰的“肯爷爷”化身戏中人，与陆丰皮影戏里的十二生肖相映成趣。

以传统戏服水袖为造型的知识墙上展示着雕刻刀具、打击乐器、水灯等陆丰皮影戏的特色装备；儿童剧《和谐盛世》的新年场景也被重新演绎，胶片定制的皮影人物与肯德基奇奇一起共庆团聚的欢乐时刻……

陆丰皮影戏是首批国家级非物质文化遗产之一。作为古老的民间艺术形式，它集绘画、雕刻、制作、音乐、表演、舞台技艺于一体，至今已有上千年历史。
